
Mechanic Apprentice
About the Role
The Mechanic Apprentice will assist the Fleet Mechanic with the diagnosis of mechanical problems, repairs and rebuilds vehicle equipment and systems as required; analyse reported issues and schedules work with other departments for optimum efficiencies; orders parts as needed; welds, sandblasts, and paints equipment.

* Secondary School level education with passes in at least three ordinary level subjects Or
* Certification in Auto- Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering Technician or similar
* Knowledge of Auto-Diagnostic Systems will be an asset.
* Knowledge of transmission systems, brake systems, engine and exhaust systems, suspensions, auto-electrical systems, hydraulic systems and auto body frames are desired.
* Knowledge of standard tools, equipment and materials in the repair of motor vehicles.
* Logical problem solving, troubleshooting and analytical thinking skills.
* Excellent interpersonal skills when treating with internal staff and external suppliers.
* Movement Mechanics required for this job includes lifting, bending, kneeling etc.
* Valid Driver's License for Trinidad and Tobago
Key Accountabilities:
* Diagnoses problems and repairs brakes, transmissions, rear-ends, clutches, valves, pumps and electrical issues.
